Your Peugeot's performance can be improved through one of two processes. The first, ECU remapping can be done on vehicle models made after 2000.

Engine Control Unit (ECU) remapping involves accessing the manufacturer-installed performance chips (EPROM chips that retain instructions even when their power supply is interrupted) and reading the generic data placed there at the time of the vehicle's fabrication. The chip is accessed through the OBD port that electronically takes advantage of the diagnostics technology available on newer Peugeots. When we remap this information, we alter the original data, which does not take into account your special driving needs, and establish values that will give you better torque, fuel economy, and responsiveness. The procedure accomplished without spoiling any of the advantages that influenced your selection of Peugeot in the first place. In other words, all safety and reliability features are retained.

Chip tuning is similar in that it also involves accessing the EPROM chip in the ECU. The only difference is that to access this chip in pre-2000 model Peugeots, the ECU must be removed from the vehicle. The same changes are made to the chip to improve performance, and then the chip and ECU are reinstalled in the vehicle.

Both chip tuning and remapping provide significant power gains and excellent fuel economy.
